When I became a photographer ten years ago, it felt like almost no one wanted to help. People farther along weren't even willing to answer my questions - so I did everything by myself for a long time. It was hard and lonely, and I thought I'd remember how this feels if I ever make it.
My whole life lit up when I finally met a few wonderful business owners in a similar place - someone to talk with about the tough days, to share "intel" and perspective. When you work for yourself and are secluded with your thoughts all day, that can be a lonely and scary place. But having even just one friend can change your world.
At Alight Collab, we're creating an authentic biz community, so you don't have to do it alone.

We’re located in North Austin, just over the line into Pflugerville—right off Pecan Street and near I-35

We’re in the gray building with a red stripe, on the backside of Building 1. You can find us easily using Google Maps
Tours:
We no longer offer in-person tours, but you can take a full virtual tour [here] to get a feel for the space, layout, and lighting. It’s the best way to explore the studio before booking
Because we shoot right next door and keep a tight schedule, we’ve moved away from in-person tours to protect our time and ensure the best experience for all renters. The virtual tour gives you everything you need to decide if it’s a good fit—and if you still have questions, we’re happy to help!

Leave no trace in our space.
Please factor in setup, breakdown, and cleanup time when booking to avoid late fees. We highly recommend adding extra buffer time to ensure a smooth wrap-up.
When you arrive: Take a few photos to note how furniture and props are arranged. It’ll make resetting easier when you’re done.
Before you leave: Reset the space exactly as you found it. Return all furniture and props—don’t leave items out or in walkways.
A broom, vacuum, and rolling trash can are provided (located beside the restroom) for your convenience
Trash & personal items
Please take any dirty diapers, food scraps, or heavily scented items with you. Bags are provided in the bathroom to help.
A dumpster is located next to our building for easy disposal.
If you remove the trash bag, please replace it with a new one—extras are on the wire shelf or on the inside corner of the trash can.
If the trash isn’t full, you’re all set—we’ll take care of it!

We’re a private, woman-owned small business, and we own the property—this isn’t a leased space or a pop-up. It’s our creative home, and we take pride in caring for it. We hope you’ll feel that and treat it with the same respect.
We also shoot next door in our own studio, so we truly understand what creatives and professionals need from a space
More than just a photo studio, Alight Collab is a versatile environment for photography, content creation, meetings, coworking, and intimate events. We also offer seasonal events (like holiday styled sets) and host regular community events to foster connection and support for business owners in our Austin, TX community.

Who wants to use a space without some tunes? A wireless speaker sits on the wire shelves that you can connect to via the directions provided on the speaker.

Yes—on a case-by-case basis. Well-mannered, house-trained pets are welcome with advance approval and a pet fee. Please email us first to check in.
Dogs must arrive with clean paws, and if your pet sheds, bring a lint roller. Be courteous to the next renters by fully cleaning up after your pet before you leave.Yes—on a case-by-case basis. Spring–Summer:
Brightest morning light enters from the right side of the studio and lights the right wall.
Direct light typically fades by noon or earlier.
The left side of the studio consistently has soft, diffused light all day.
Fall–Winter (Sept–March):
No direct morning light due to the sun shifting behind the building.
The space stays softly lit all day with the best light typically between 10am–3pm.
April–June:
This is our brightest season.
Direct morning light begins as early as 9am and can last until nearly noon.
The left wall continues to receive soft, balanced light.
August:
Morning light shifts earlier and becomes more diffused by around 10am.
Loft Note:
The loft/kitchen area is naturally darker due to its half-wall construction.
We recommend bringing flash or constant light sources if you plan to shoot in that area.

Absolutely! Our space is flexible and multifunctional. Host a workshop, small event, client meeting, team planning session, or creative cowork day.
