Plus, we host non-icky meetups for our community, so you never have to "network" (we hate that word, too) your way into a business bestie relationship again.

One of the standout features of Alight Collaborative Studios is the versatility of their space. The studio offered a variety of backdrops and props, allowing me to customize each session according to my clients' preferences. This flexibility not only added creativity to my work but also left a lasting impression on my clients, who appreciated the personalized touch.

THE WHY BEHIND THE
BIZ—NESS
When I became a photographer ten years ago, it felt like almost no one wanted to help. People farther along weren't even willing to answer my questions - so I did everything by myself for a long time. It was hard and lonely, and I thought I'd remember how this feels if I ever make it.
My whole life lit up when I finally met a few wonderful business owners in a similar place - someone to talk with about the tough days, to share "intel" and perspective. When you work for yourself and are secluded with your thoughts all day, that can be a lonely and scary place. But having even just one friend can change your world.
At Alight Collab, we're creating an authentic biz community, so you don't have to do it alone.

Yes, you’re welcome to move furniture, but please set things back to their original position when you’re done. We have dollies you can use as well as furniture-moving aids, like pop on wheels/felt pads. If you’re looking to hang things, please only use command strips that will easily peel off without leaving holes or peeling the fresh paint.

Working out of a shared studio for many years previously, we tried to account for everything we wish we had had when using a studio. We've put careful thought into all the details of our space to provide you with the best possible experience for you and your clients.
We are a private, woman-owned small business and we shoot out of our own studio right next door!
We are always happy to hear your requests or suggestions and will take that into account to make our space even better for you.
Beyond a studio space for photography or content creation, we provide a professional and creative space that can house many of your needs - like meetings, coworking, and events!
We also host seasonal set decor for things like Christmas, and we host many community-focused events for connection and support.
We've put blood, sweat, and tears into creating this space for you as we own these studios (we don't lease).

Note the furniture locations and placement of things in the space when you enter. You can even snap some pics!
At the end of your appointment, pick up after yourself and reset the space to its original condition before you depart. Please be courteous to the next guest behind you by returning all furniture and props and leaving a picked-up studio.
You’ll need to factor in setup, breakdown, and clean-up time in your booking to avoid late fees.
There is a dumpster located beside our studio if you need to dispose of things like dirty diapers or excess trash. Otherwise, we'll take care of emptying the trashcans and additional detailed cleaning.

Who wants to use a space without some tunes? A wireless speaker sits on the wire shelves that you can connect to via the directions provided on the speaker.
We have many neighboring businesses that surround our studio, so please keep all noise to a low-medium volume, especially during the weekdays. Thank you!

Well-mannered and house-trained pets are permitted on a case-by-case basis, email us to discuss. Dogs need clean paws, and if the dog is a shedder, please come prepared with a lint roller. Be courteous to the next renters and fully clean up for the next renter.

This is based on preference, but here's the lighting pattern in our space:
In the spring-summer months, morning light tends to be the brightest due to the directional light coming in on the right side of the studio. This light primarily targets the right wall and is cleared by noon if not much earlier. The left side of the space is always in balanced, diffused light.
There is soft, diffused light throughout the space the rest of the day and always on the left wall.
The loft is the darker part of the space, due to it having a half-wall. We recommend a flash or constant light addition if you want to shoot in the kitchen set.
Seasonal Light:
From Sept -March, there is no direct morning light due to the sun streaming on the opposite side of the building. The studio remains soft and diffused all day. The best natural light for this season tends to start around 10am and end about 3pm.
April to June, we get the most directional morning light and the brightest light. In March, the sun is up over our windows by 9am, growing longer each month. In June the direct light lasts until nearly 12pm. The left studio wall remains even while the right wall isn't diffused until late morning.
In August, the direct light is over by about 10am and diffused the rest of the day.
